They have done it before and they're hoping to do it again. "The Simpsons", TV's not only longest running animated series, but longest running sitcom of all time, is shooting for their sixth Emmy Award for Best Animated Series. The way the system works is the creators of the show choose certain episodes each season to the judges of the Emmy's. Every year, five shows are nominated for Best Animated Series, and one show wins the award. This year, the creators of "The Simpsons" submitted the following five episodes to be judged: "Beyond Blunderdome"(AABF23), "Last Tap Dance in Springfield"(BABF15), "Kill the Alligator and Run" (BABF16), "Bart to the Future" (BABF13), and "Behind the Laughter"(BABF19). "Behind the Laughter" is now the official nominee for "The Simpsons" in this year's Emmy awards. Other shows competing for this award include "Family Guy", "South Park", "The Powerpuff Girls", and "MTV Downtown"."The Simpsons" has not been nominated for other awards.

Details can also be found on www.ebay.com because people with connections with others who work on the Emmy awards can be found selling adds for particular awards ("The Simpsons" Emmy add for this year, on the right), as well as videos of episodes being submitted to the judges ( 1999's video on the left) , which in reality are both only suppose to go to the judges considering the award. Watch the Emmy Awards broadcast on September 10 on ABC.
